CHELTENHAM, England — AMA Research has published the 6th edition of the “UK Domestic Heating Market Report.” The report analyses the UK market for domestic heating products in terms of market size, key sector trends, product mixes, key suppliers, customers, and distribution channels, and is based on a combination of primary and secondary research.

According to the report, the overall domestic heating market is estimated to be worth over 1.1 billion pounds in 2002. Improving levels of domestic business and consumer confidence in 1999 prompted positive real growth, with the sector rising by 4 percent at current prices to a value just over 1 billion pounds for the first time.

In 2002, the central heating sector is estimated to have contributed approximately 65 percent to the value of the overall domestic heating market. Boilers, at around 54 percent, represent the largest sector of the central heating market with radiators, pumps, and controls accounting for the remainder.
