CINCINNATI — Columbus State Community College student, Susan Scott, was recently awarded a $2,000 scholarship by the Excellence Alliance Foundation to continue her studies in the field of air conditioning and heating. This scholarship was completely funded by two Excellence Alliance Inc. members, Mechanical Systems of Dayton Inc. of Dayton, Ohio, and R.N. Smith of Lancaster, Ohio.

On Wednesday, June 4, 2003, Excellence Alliance Inc. members John Stewart of Mechanical Systems of Dayton Inc. and Pat and Kristina Smith of R.N. Smith Sheet Metal Shop Inc. along with Richard Wirtz, Associate Professor at Columbus State Community College, presented a check for $2,000 to student recipient, Susan Scott (shown second from left in photo). The presentation took place at the college in Columbus, Ohio.

The Excellence Alliance Foundation is a nonprofit organization created to attract, educate, and develop all levels of the contracting workforce. The foundation seeks to address the personnel shortage in the HVAC industry.

Excellence Alliance Foundation provides funds to qualified educational institutions as described in Internal Revenue Code Section 170(b)(1)(A)(ii) for distribution as qualified scholarships to individuals seeking education or training in the contracting industry.
