Permatron Corp.: Cooling Tower Filter
March 4, 2004
The media of the PreVent® air intake filters for cooling towers contains an electrostatic charge that doesn't diminish over time, catching and holding particles much like iron filings are attracted to a magnet, says the company. The filters are made of permanent, washable, black polypropylene, which has UV protection, states the manufacturer. Filter installation requires no system modifications or electrical hookups. It is custom made to exact dimensions with a flexible vinyl, galvanized, or stainless steel edge. It can be affixed with a hook/loop or magnetic strip attachment around the perimeter of the air intake, or grommets for a heavy-duty hook attachment. The manufacturer states that the unit can be used for condenser, air-cooled chiller, air-handling unit, and louver applications.
