Summer is barely over, but it’s time to start thinking about all the new boilers, furnaces, and heat pumps offered by manufacturers. Yes, it’s time once again for the Heating Showcase.

This annual event in The News introduces the latest heating units available for the upcoming heating season. The intent is to help our contractor subscribers prepare for winter by putting key product information at their fingertips. The type of information included in this Showcase issue is based on what contractors have told us they’d like to see.

Included are feature-specific details about each individual product submitted by manufacturers. The point is to help contractors and technicians compare and contrast the differing products, in order to have helpful information to provide to customers.

The Showcase includes residential, light commercial, and residential/light commercial product grids, which include technical facts such as unit tonnage, heating type, warranty availability, and Btuh. These charts can be found in PDF format at the bottom of the left-hand column on The News home page. The accompanying feature in this issue, called “New Products Heating Up 2002” (which is divided into residential, light commercial, and residential/light commercial sections), provides more in-depth information on each unit. Technical support information is also included, as well as information on how to contact manufacturers and/or distributors.

All of the data included in both the product grids and in the “New Products Heating Up 2002” feature were provided by the manufacturers. Therefore, any questions should be directed to them via the contact information provided in the feature.

The News’ annual Heating Showcase issue is designed to be a tool for contractors to use when preparing for the heating season.
