MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. — The AC&R Coalition, a group composed of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES), Ferris State University, HVAC Excellence, and ESCO Institute, as well as several other industry organizations to address safety within the air conditioning and refrigeration sectors, has introduced the “Universal R-410A Safety and Training” CD-ROM. The coalition said the interactive CD-ROM provides field service personnel with the training and knowledge to perform service on systems containing R-410A and R-407C. In addition, the CD includes information on the R-22 phaseout, appropriate refrigerant and oil applications, service techniques, and safe handling of R-410A.

The CD breaks down R-410A training into categories with specific subtopics. Each category contains practice questions. According to the coalition, all of the information needed to prepare for the R-410A Safety Certification is on the CD-ROM.
