The company now offers an integral blowdown valve on its Delta Element steam traps. The valve is a complete assembly that permits turning the valve stem, with a 3/8-in. open-ended or adjustable wrench, to open the valve for blowdown. The DTC (double threaded cap) option allows a small length of pipe and ball valve to be installed for blowdown. According to the manufacturer, the Delta Element steam traps are unique because they have a hybrid design that uses both thermostatic and thermodynamic principles to gain a constant modulating discharge of condensate as it forms and to eliminate live steam loss.
