SCHOFIELD, Wis. - Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle honored Greenheck and nine other Wisconsin companies and institutions with Export Achievement Awards for achieving extraordinary results in international sales and for contributing to Wisconsin's increased ability to compete in a global market. Other winners included Mercury Marine, Fond du Lac; Bell Laboratories, Madison; and the UW Madison Babcock Institute.

Sales at Greenheck increased from $100 million in 1995 to over $350 million last year. To support its international growth and facilitate communication with customers around the world, the company has staffed three regional sales offices in Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia; opened a manufacturing facility in Kunshan, China, to service that market; and translated its Website into Spanish and Chinese.

"Wisconsin exports have shown four straight years of incredibly strong growth, and our growth continues to surpass that of the nation," said Gov. Doyle. "I'm proud to recognize Wisconsin companies and institutions that have demonstrated leadership and innovation in responding successfully to international market challenges, and are building a great name for Wisconsin around the globe."
