The microcontrolled PLM Series of octal plug-in three-phase voltage monitors protects three-phase motors and other sensitive three-phase equipment from damaging or destructive voltage faults, the manufacturer states. According to the company, this monitor’s new microcontroller circuit design more accurately senses phase loss, voltage unbalance, undervoltage, and phase sequence than previous designs. Operating voltages of 240, 380, and 480 VAC 50-100Hz are available. Point the arrow to the voltage listed on the motor’s nameplate and the low voltage trip point is set at the NEMA specification of -10%. The LED glows green and the isolated SPDT 8-A relay contact transfers when all voltages are acceptable. Three-wire hookup to Delta or Wye systems is possible, the company says.
