OSHA Recommends Flood Cleanup Precautions In Texas

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is providing information to help protect workers involved in the cleanups following summer floods in Texas. OSHA has developed a number of fact sheets on procedures related to the disposing of damaged items or cleaning up hazardous chemicals.

The topics include:

  • How to protect yourself when cleaning up after a flood.

  • How to clean up mold.

  • How to guard against asbestos hazards.

  • How to avoid fungal diseases.

    The fact sheets can be downloaded from the OSHA website at Select “F” in the index at the top of the home page and then select “Fact Sheets.”
