SOUTHFIELD, MI — The Metropolitan Detroit Chapter of the Sheet Metal & Air Conditioning Contractors National Association (SMACNA) and the Sheet Metal Workers Local 80 recently unveiled their “Together We Do It Better” campaign at an open house for members and families of both organizations.

The program was specifically created to promote pride among SMACNA contractors and Local 80 members. Vehicles and hard hats with “Together We Do It Better” graphics were on display, designed to reemphasize the importance of “dedicated professionalism and customer satisfaction,” according to a joint press release.

“It is the right thing to do at the right time,” said Anthony Asher, SMACNA General Counsel. “We need to look at ways to be more competitive.”

When asked if this increased dedication to customer service will result in an increase in union membership, Asher said, “If we take care of customers, customers will take care of us — and we will generate more [business] volume to increase labor market penetration.”
