DES PLAINES, IL — Every two years, Purdue University hosts conferences focusing on the results of recent research in compressors and other HVACR technologies. The Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) is a cooperating organization in support of the conferences, which are held in West Lafayette, IN.

The 16th International Conference and the 9th International Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Conference will be held July 16-19, 2002. The conferences will provide an opportunity for practitioners and researchers in industry, government, consulting offices, laboratories, and universities to reach a large audience and exchange current engineering information, problems, and solutions on the important issues of compressor technology, new refrigerants, and refrigeration technology and efficiency.

Prior to the conference, there will be two short courses offered. “Analysis and Design of Microchannel Heat Exchangers” will cover the basic knowledge needed to analyze and design microchannel heat exchangers for use in air conditioning and heat pump applications. The short course titled “CFD4HVAC&R” will introduce computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to scientists and engineers who work with the HVACR field.
