The QEI fan is now quieter with the addition of its sound vault housing, the manufacturer states. This housing option includes an enclosure lined with 2 inches of sound-attenuating insulation, integral isolators, and flexible connections to lock-in radiated sound and minimize vibration transmission. The QEI mixed-flow fan is designed for applications where the level of noise is important, such as office buildings, libraries, or educational facilities. With the housing, radiated sound levels are reduced in excess of 50%, making this option ideal for fans located adjacent to an occupied workspace, the company says.
