The Z-300-HC-MS two-stage heat/two-stage cool zone control panel works with two-stage thermostats, which permits up-staging based on temperature instead of upstaging based on time delay, says the manufacturer. According to the company, it allows an hvac unit to have up to three zones; if additional panels are connected, then it is possible to have up to 20 zones. If one of the zone thermostats is calling for heating and another is calling for cooling, the one calling for cooling receives preference, and the system will operate in the cooling mode, the company says. When that one is satisfied, the system will take care of the heating requirement; this feature is known as “auto changeover — cooling priority.”
