• The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) (Chantilly, VA) and the Sheet Metal Workers International Association (SMWIA) have announced a new website to help promote and share information on the sheet metal industry.   • Martin (Mickey) Reiss, P.E., has been named the recipient of the Paul C. Lamb Award, which honors members of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) (Quincy, MA). Reiss will be presented with the award at NFPA’s 2002 World Safety Conference and Exposition, to be held May 20 in Minneapolis.
  • The Association of Service & Mechanical Contractors (ASAM) (Royal Oak, MI) and Pipefitters Local 636 (Farmington Hills, MI) are co-sponsoring TV spots that will run from May 18 to Nov. 11. The commercials will highlight patriotic holidays and encourage customers to use a skilled worker provided by Local 636 and members of ASAM.
