Toronto, ON, Canada is expected to have more housing starts this year than any other metro area in North America. More than 50,000 homes are expected to be built in the greater Toronto area in 2002. This is one of the reasons why Messe Frankfurt Inc. is hosting ISH North America in Toronto on Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 2002.

ISH NA is being billed as the first major plumbing, heating, cooling, and piping show to be held in Canada’s largest metropolitan area since 1999. It is expected to attract a large buying audience of Canada’s contractors, wholesalers, designers, and specifiers. It is being held in cooperation with the American Supply Association (ASA), the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating (CIPH), and the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors — National Association (PHCC).

According to the organizers, ISH NA “will provide the richest offerings of training for the industry ever assembled in one location for one event.” In addition to hosting exhibitors from throughout North America and around the world, ISH NA will host seminars of many varieties. Some of the subjects to be addressed over the course of the three-day event include the explosive growth of hydronic heating; how to make more money while providing superior customer service; the latest techniques in dealing with prospects, customers, and employees; how to increase professionalism; and how to earn more by working smarter, not harder.

In addition to ISH NA, ASA’s 2002 Business Conference will be held in Toronto during the same time frame, as will PHCC’s Annual Business Conference. Other associations scheduled to meet include the Canadian Industrial PVF Council; the Radiant Panel Association, which will hold its first meeting in Toronto and will meet with the Canadian Hydronics Council; and the World Plumbing Council Board.

Also, the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating (CIPH) will sponsor its 5th Charity Dinner for Habitat for Humanity on Oct. 30. Over $600,000 has been pledged to date.
