Register covers and Snap-Plugs snap into place over register openings to keep dirt and debris out of the HVAC system, states the manufacturer. Snap-Plugs fit into the floor rough-in or register boot without tools, the company says. The bright color is designed to act as a safety reminder on the jobsite. The register cover is for jobs where the HVAC system is in use during construction, says the company. According to the manufacturer, it fits around the finish register to filter out dirt and debris while protecting the register and keeping it looking new.
