The ECO Air System (Enhanced Catalytic Oxidation) is the first residential air purifier using photoionization for reduction of airborne pollutants, such as bacteria, viruses, mold, mildew, and other microbes, the manufacturer says. The process uses UVC light rays targeted on a titanium compound to create high-speed hydroxyl radicals and super oxide ions, the company states. Three sizes are available — for 2,000-, 4,000- and 10,000-square feet areas. According to the company, it has packaged the ECO technology in HVAC kits for qualified contractors.
