FALLS CHURCH, VA — Quality Service Contractors (QSC) recently held its QSC Power Meeting Aug. 1-3 in Kansas City, MO. According to the organization, its members learned how to “power talk” to get results.

Keynote speaker George Walther explained the advantages of talking in a positive and persuasive manner in both business and personal lives. According to Walther, saying the right things with self-confidence can help project a more positive image for the contractor and the company.

The interactive seminar allowed the audience to assess their own communication skills. Results can range from gaining more cooperation with internal and external customers, to eliminating harmful habits that get in the way of communicating positively.

Other seminars dealt with employee recruitment and retention, company policy manuals, and profit management.

The next QSC Power Meeting will be held Feb. 20-23, 2003, in New Orleans, LA. Seminar topics will include trends and facts for running a business, growing and managing service sales, carbon monoxide testing, and business coaching. For more information, visit www.qsc-phcc.org (website).
