Manufacturers For The Week: 08/19/2002

  • Bettcher Manufacturing LLC (Cleveland, OH) recently added a 300-ton Niagra press to the company’s list of metal stamping equipment. The company says that the new press will increase capacity and will run both line and progressive die work for steel and stainless steel.

  • Kysor/Warren (Columbus, GA) has named Ralph Schmitt as its new president. Schmitt was previously with York International Corp. (York, PA), where he was vice-president/general manager.

  • Zero Zone (North Prairie, WI) has promoted David Morrow to the position of vice president of sales and Marketing, and John Duimstra to the position of chief financial officer. The new positions were the result of the recent acquisition of Systematic Refrigeration.

  • Glasfloss Industries (Dallas, TX) has appointed Jim McGarity to the position of national sales manager for the company’s Air Conditioning Refrigeration Wholesaler (ARW) division.

  • ICOR International (Indianapolis, IN) has hired Bill Lawson to test new and existing refrigeration products and to develop new training and education models for the air conditioning and refrigeration industry.

  • Quest Technologies (Oconomowoc, WI) has received orders from three National Football League teams for the company’s QuestTemp Series Area Heat Stress Monitors. The products help in measuring the high humidity, temperature, and radiant heat conditions that can possibly lead to heat stroke and other heat-induced illnesses.

  • Yokogawa Corporation of America (Newnan, GA) has introduced a program called Quick Ship, designed to address customers’ emergency situations. The program provides Yokogawa flow products to customers who are in a situation that requires product shipment in 24 to 38 hours. For more information, go to (website).

  • Equiguard Inc. (Willowbrook, IL) has honored its top sales associates for 2001. Steve Wood of Texas Reps was named Salesman of the Year, Warren Finney of Texas Reps was presented with the Shining Star Award, and Reeves and Associates was presented with the Top Sales Volume Award.

  • Effikal International Inc. (Orion, MI) was awarded an Economic Development Job Training Grant for 2002 by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. The company will use the grant for training employees in the areas of technical and process improvements, quality processes, software programs, and more.

  • Rolled Alloys (Temperance, MI) has announced the recent successful audit of all four of its U.S. locations to the new standards of ISO 9000:2000 and AS 9100.
