Building Code Conference Scheduled

HERNDON, VA — The National Conference of States on Building Codes & Standards (NCSBCS) will meet Oct. 20-22, 2002, at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville, KY. The theme for this year’s conference is: “Where is Your Jurisdiction in the Twin Races for Security and Competitiveness in the Global Economy?” The conference is a combined conference and is also being hosted by the Association of Major City/County Building Officials (AMCBO).

The program will include the second annual National Forum on Building Smarter in the Digital Age, training sessions for code enforcement personnel, and a homeland security workshop and discussion session regarding state adoption of current model building codes.

The governor of Kentucky and current chairman of the National Governors Association, Paul Patton, and Louisville Mayor David Armstrong are scheduled to give welcoming and introductory remarks to the conference attendees.
