CHICAGO, IL — International Truck and Engine Corporation will introduce its new line of trucks in February. The new line represents the culmination of the most significant capital and product development investment in the company's history. Approximately 2,500 International dealers, customers and suppliers will be among the first to see the new trucks in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino and Las Vegas Motor Speedway. "The new International(R) 4000, 7000 and 8000 series trucks are the industry's first High Performance trucks. This is high performance that makes a real difference as measured by vehicle performance, employee performance and financial performance," said Steve Keate, president, truck group, International Truck and Engine Corporation. "With these trucks, International will set a new benchmark in delivering to customers the lowest operating and maintenance costs and highest resale value."

The result of $900 million in design, engineering and development, the International High Performance trucks have been undergoing extensive fleet use field-testing to achieve a superb balance of power, ride and comfort. Throughout the last year, prototypes have been on the road in such applications as beverage tractor, refrigerated van, dump truck and roll-off wrecker. Feedback from participating fleets is overwhelmingly positive, especially in the areas of steering and handling, responsiveness, visibility, cab environment and styling.
