MISSISSAUGA, ON, Canada – Roger Grochmal is a busy man. Besides running his heating and cooling business in this community outside of Toronto, he manages to find time to answer questions as aNewscontractor consultantandcontribute to a newsletter that he sends out to his homeowner customers.

Grochmal adds his own helpful hints to the newsletter, An Engineer’s Opinion. He said the information is published “to assist homeowners in creating the healthiest, most comfortable environment in their homes at the most reasonable cost.”

He asserts that the newsletter keeps his companies — Atlas A/C Co. and the newly acquired W. Skerratt Heating Co. — in front of the customer. The newsletter provides them with useful information about energy-saving tips and equipment upgrades/maintenance. For example, in his latest editorial, Grochmal talks about the cost of natural gas, “which has tripled over the past two years and the cost of electricity is likely to follow suit.” He recommends saving on energy costs with proper maintenance and equipment upgrades.

He goes on to talk about maintaining furnaces and air conditioners through regular tune-ups and adding accessories to improve indoor air quality (IAQ).

Other stories in the most recent newsletter include:

  • “Filters 101: A General Guide,” which explains the various types of filters available, including electrostatic, pleated media, turbulent flow precipitator, and HEPA;
  • “A Painless Service Plan,” which details the GC Plan, a maintenance program offered by Atlas.
  • “Atlas & Skerratt: Serving You Better Together,” which provides information on the recent acquisition of Skerratt.
  • Grochmal maintains that his newsletter has proved to be an effective marketing tool, one that keeps him in touch with his customers.
