  • The Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Industry Fund of the United States (SMACN-IFUS) (Chantilly, VA) annual contributors’ meeting will be held on Oct. 23, 2002, at SMACNA’s convention in Las Vegas, NV.

  • The Construction Contractors’ Alliance (CCA) (Falls Church, VA) will hold its next meeting in Kohler, WI, from Sept. 18-20, 2002. The meeting will address issues facing plumbing and mechanical new construction contractors. A representative from Kohler Co. will be the keynote speaker. For more information, go to (website).

  • The Hydraulic Institute (HI) (Parsippany, NJ) has published a new “American National Standard for Submersible Pump Tests” (ANSI/HI 11.6-2001).   • The Sheet Metal Occupational Health Institute Trust (SMOHIT) (Alexandria, VA) has partnered with Hilti Corp. to develop a CD-ROM for the sheet metal industry titled “Powder Actuated Tools Safety Training.” The program covers product features, assembly instructions, maintenance, operation, and more.   • The National Association of Oil Heating Service Managers (NAOHSM) (East Petersburg, PA) recently presented several awards at its annual convention in Hartford, CT. Frank “Skip” Lincoln was named Service Manager of the Year, Vic Kerbe was named Associate of the Year, Smith Cast Iron Boilers was named as the Manufacturer of the Year, and Harold “Mickey” Gill received the Hugh McKee Award.
