SEATTLE, WA — One of The News’ “Best Contractors to Work For”from last year has been honored again by the Radiant Panel Association (RPA). Paul Pollets of Seattle-based, Advanced Radiant Technology (ART), has placed second in the association’s REX System Showcase in the “Innovation” category.

Pollets and his company installed radiant and hvac technology throughout a new residential home in Seattle. Systems included radiant floors throughout the 3,800-sq-ft. home and zone heating/cooling systems. Also installed within the home was whole-house ventilation, air filtration, heat-recovery ventilation, chiller-based air conditioning, pool and spa warming, and domestic water.

According to Pollets, one the most unique aspects of the new home installation has been the chiller. He says that chillers are used very rarely for residential air conditioning. This installation will provide for modulated cold air temperatures. Not only was this one of the more unique installations on the home, but is was also the most challenging. Pollets had to fit the boiler, water tank, control, air handlers, ductwork, and piping into a 90-sq-ft. mechanical room.
