The Microbio MB2 Air Sampler can be used to sample airborne contamination in indoor and outdoor environments. The sampler is a lightweight, portable, microprocessor-controlled instrument that employs a contact plate with user-selected agar media, which is then removed and sent to a laboratory for analysis. The colony count, combined with the volume of the air sample, is used to calculate the number of microorganisms present per cubic meter of air. The colony count, combined with the volume of the air sample, is used to calculate the number of microorganisms present per cubic meter of air. A laminar flow pattern (nominal 100 liters of air/min) minimizes turbulence and permits easy and accurate calibration of air volume, states the company. The unit comes with a sampling cover, battery, and battery charger within a carrying case that has extra space for agar plates.
