• Ed French, chief technology officer for Lennox International Inc. (Dallas, TX) announced his intention to retire effective July 1, 2001. Bob Schjerven, chief executive officer, said Lennox has initiated a search for a successor. French joined Lennox in 1989 as vice president and general manager of Heatcraft's Refrigeration Products division. He was named president and chief operating officer of Armstrong Air Conditioning, another Lennox subsidiary, in 1995 and worked to shape and build an organization to better support the needs and growth of distributors. In July 2000, he was named chief technology officer for Lennox International.
  • Glen A. Wegworth has been appointed vice president of operations for the Controls business at Johnson Controls, Inc. (Milwaukee, WI). In this newly created senior management position, Wegworth will be responsible for developing and implementing a global operations strategy to standardize processes, tools, and metrics. Wegworth joins Johnson Controls from Siemens Building Technologies where he held positions in marketing, service, and management. He most recently served as president of the company’s building solutions and services division. Prior to joining Siemens, Wegworth spent 22 years with Carrier Corp. where he held a variety of positions ranging from branch service manager to vice president of building systems and services.
  • Colmac Coil Manufacturing Inc. (Colville, WA) created some new positions and promoted Carl Berg to quality control manager, Willard Taft to quality control assistant, Roger Williams to production engineering manager, and Thomas Harshman to information systems/technology manager.
  • Former Olympic Gold Medal Swimmer, Steve Lundquist, has taken the position of vice president of sales with DryKor, Inc., (Fayetteville, GA.), manufacturer of liquid desiccant dehumidification systems.

  • Charles (Chuck) Kalin III has been named director, industrial sales, for the low-voltage motors and drives business of the ABB Automation Technology Products Division (New Berlin, WI).

  • Lindab, Inc., (Stamford, CT) added Doug Crooks as the company’s sales manager for the Southeast region. Crooks’ primary responsibilities include developing and managing customer accounts in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.
  • Meridian Project Systems (MPS, Vancouver, BC, canada), an e-business and software solutions provider for the construction industry, has hired Liz Robertson as ProjectTalk vice president. Robertson will direct all development and operational aspects of ProjectTalk, the company's online project management service, in this newly created executive position situated in the company's research and development office.
  • Jeff Trower moves up to manager of national accounts for Data Aire (Anaheim, CA), a manufacturer of precision cooling and environmental control systems. Prior to joining Data Aire four years ago, Trower headed up sales and service for Mitsubishi Climate Control Air Conditioning and Refrigeration — Western Hemisphere.
