BOCA RATON, FL — The members of the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW) commemorated the organization’s 110th anniversary at its annual convention and trade show held here recently. Presiding over the convention were IARW chairman William T. Gee and Raymond E. Biggar, World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO) chairman.

The convention was attended by more than 600 delegates from 14 nations. More than 80 distributors took part in the trade show, which featured products and services used by the warehouse, distribution, and food industries.

There were also a number of presentations and seminars. Alan J. Parisse delivered the keynote address on “Sustaining Success in a Revolutionary World,” and Fred Guy, Ph.D., director of the Hoffberger Center for Professional Ethics, led a panel discussion on ethics in the cold storage industry and how decisions balance with day-to-day operations.

Several other events were held, including a technology forum featuring seven education sessions. One special energy forum discussed strategies for coping with the emerging utility energy crisis.
