The company has announced that its residential and commercial CAP (central air purification) products are now classified as Class II medical devices. This means the units may be prescribed by physicians for installation and use by patients suffering with allergies, asthma, and similar respiratory problems, says the company. In many cases, the product, installation, and operating costs may be tax-deductible, the company says. CAP300 models feature germicidal UV or UV Plus™ lamps. CAP100 models combine this lamp technology with two stages of particulate filtration, says the manufacturer.
