Herman Goldner Co., Inc.(Philadelphia, PA) made sure this year’s Republican National Convention was a cool place to be. The company was responsible for the mechanical systems at Philadelphia’s First Union Center, site of the convention, along with quick restoration of the facility to its original condition for subsequent events. The project required temporary supplemental a/c in the convention area, along with cooling of the temporary structures for the media. Cooling was also needed for the TV studios set up for the event. In total, nearly 6,000 tons of additional cooling were installed.

Comprehensive Energy Services, Inc.(CES; Altamonte Springs, FL) will receive the Eagle Award in the Associated Builders and Contractors’ (ABC) 2000 Excellence in Construction competition for its work on Universal Studios at Universal Orlando’s Men in Black-Alien Attack project. CES will be presented the award in the Division 15 Category ¾ Subcontractor, Mechanical (Over $1 Million) at the ABC ceremony to be held on October 21.
