Hudson Technologies Inc. announced that it has received a commitment of $250,000 from a New York State agency to develop a system to improve chiller efficiency and performance, and to increase system capacity.

The Pearl River, NY company, founded in1991, specializes in emergency refrigerant recovery and decontamination services. Its technology and services are designed to remove impurities frequently found in the refrigeration circuits of large, comfort cooling and process refrigeration systems.

The funding comes from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), a public benefit corporation that supports research to develop technologies that help save energy and reduce emissions.

Hudson will use its “Zugibeast” and proprietary “RefrigerantSide” decontamination services in the project.
