The company has introduced a new open communications standard for the residential hvac market. The Enviracom™ environmental control communications network is said to be a flexible, open specification that anyone in the industry can use. The standard allows interoperability among hvac products and integration with higher-level home automation systems. The network uses a standard 24-V backbone; it uses existing thermostat wires, so it is retrofittable; and it is designed to be easy to install, the company says.
