WORCESTERSHIRE, England — Wolseley plc, an international group of companies engaged in the distribution of plumbing and heating products and building materials with operations in the United States and Canada, has announced that trading in its shares, in the form of American Depository Receipts (ADRs), has begun on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

This is in addition to the company’s present stock exchange listing in London. As part of a plan to promote its corporate identity internationally, the stock exchange symbol by which the company is known in London has been changed from WLY to WOS, to match the symbol it has adopted in New York.

Richard Ireland, chairman of the firm, said “This is an exciting new milestone in the history of the group, and one which demonstrates our commitment to the continuing rapid development of Wolseley as a world-class international distribution business.”
