The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) announced yesterday (Feb. 25) the appointment of Paul T. Stalknecht as executive vice president and ceo. Stalknecht comes to ACCA from the American Trucking Associations, where he served as senior vice president for Federation Relations. In making the announcement, ACCA president Tony Shaker said of Stalknecht, “He is a seasoned trade association executive with more than 25 years management experience on the state and national levels. I look forward to his contributions to both our association and the hvacr contracting community.” Prior to joining the American Trucking Associations in 1985, Stalknecht served the New Jersey Motor Truck Association (NJMTA) for 18 years, the last five as executive director of the organization.
At the conclusion of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America’s (MCAA) recent annual convention in Maui, Smitty G. Belcher of Huxtable & Associates (Lawrence, KS) was named the association’s new president. MCAA also presented appreciation plaques to outgoing president Ron Pearson of NewMech Companies (St. Paul, MN) and to outgoing board of directors members Robert J. Malia of Thermo Air, Inc. (Hollywood, FL), George Voegeleof Voegele Mechanical (Philadelphia, PA), and William E. McClure Jr. of McClure Co. (Harrisburg, PA). First-place Safety Excellence Awards were presented to R.L. Bunch Co. (Torrance, CA); Specialty Piping Corp. (Davisville, WV), Pace Mechanical Services (Westland, MI); Jamar Co. (Duluth, MN) and Phillips, Getschow Co. (Joliet, IL).
