• Goodman Manufacturing Co., L.P. (Houston, TX) announces that it has purchased the principal assets of the Hammond Distributing Co., a division of Hammond Sheet Metal Co. of St. Louis, MO. The business will operate in Missouri, Arkansas, and Illinois as Goodman Midwest, a newly formed subsidiary that will function as a separate distributor.
  • Goodman, through its GMC Sales Corp. affiliate, also announces that ASHA Distributing, Inc. (Omaha, NB) has agreed to market Goodman products in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas City, and northwestern Missouri.

  • Computer Sciences Corp. (El Segundo, CA) has awarded its UK portfolio to Johnson Controls, Inc. (Milwaukee, WI) to provide facility management services. Johnson Controls will deliver integrated services at CSC-controlled facilities by supplying building maintenance, security, energy management, catering, and reception services. The UK properties are an addendum to the five-year global deal signed by the two organizations in February 2000.
  • Ebtron, Inc. (Loris, SC) announces that its products have been selected for control of building pressure and ventilation rates for the renovation of “Wedge 1” at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. The remaining four sections or wedges will be done similarly. The entire renovation project is expected to take 12 years to complete at a cost of $1.1 billion. H&B Products (Springfield, VA), the Ebtron representative for the area, supplied the equipment for this project to Johnson Controls.
  • CMP Corp. has moved into a new facility in Oklahoma City, OK. The new plant covers 120,000 sq ft, with additional site preparation to facilitate further expansion in the near future.
  • United CoolAir Corp. (York, PA) reports booming sales for its portable air conditioning and heating business. Portable business has nearly doubled through the first nine months of this year. The company says that what has really taken off is its vertical portable air-cooled line from 5 to 25 tons.
  • Lindab, Inc. (Stamford, CT) announces the establishment of a regional sales office in Richardson, TX. The facility will support local stocking distributors in Lindab’s new southern region, which includes Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and New Mexico.
