Lincoln Electric Co.

The Lincoln Electric Co. (Cleveland, OH) updated the Tech Topics section of its website, www.lincolnelectric.com/products/tech/article.asp. Tech Topics has five sections — “Processes and Theory,” “How-To Welding Tips,” “Application Stories,” “Frequently Asked Questions,” and “Projects and Miscellaneous” — and is for the beginning welder to the seasoned expert, according to the company.

Johns Manville Corp

Johns Manville Corp. (Denver, CO) has entered into a definitive merger agreement with an investor group led by affiliates of Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst Inc. and Bear Stearns Merchant Banking. The transaction is valued at approximately $3 billion. The Manville Personal Injury Settlement Trust (the “Trust”) and members of JM management, including chairman and ceo Jerry Henry, will retain an equity stake in the post-merger company.

Temtrol

Temtrol (Okarche, OK), a CES Group company, received the Supplier Excellence Award from Texas Instruments for the third time.
