Studies show that more than 30% of air conditioning leaks into an attic or crawl space are due to faulty ducting. Detecting those losses can substantially reduce energy consumption. Using a noncontact thermometer is quicker and safer because measurements that are difficult to get to or in dangerous locations can be taken instantly without ladders, the company says.
