A new duct liner coating with moisture-repellant properties reduces the chances of microbial contamination and fungal growth in ductwork, says the company. Called ToughGard duct liner with Enhanced Surface, the coating preserves the sound-dampening performance of the duct liner by allowing sound waves to pass through the open-cell structure and onto the sound-absorbing fiber glass mat. The airstream surface serves as a barrier against infiltration of dust and dirt into the insulation, exhibits low air resistance, and reduces the potential for fiber erosion, the manufacturer says.
