WASHINGTON, DC — Pepco Energy Services has developed an initiative designed to attract independent hvac contractors for the sale and maintenance of energy-efficient hvac products.

The Contractor Alliance Program will provide Pepco Energy Services and contractors an opportunity to leverage each other’s strengths with the purpose of acquiring and retaining customers. According to Pepco, the program will allow contractors to concentrate on setting their own competitive pricing, installing, and servicing while taking advantage of Pepco Energy Services’ advertising, billing, marketing, dispatching, and quality control. Also, contractors will receive information on energy efficient products and ongoing training.

The goal of the program is to help improve the visibility, customer base, and service quality of contractors. To be eligible for the alliance, contractors must pass certain criteria including a Better Business Bureau review. They must also be an active member of either the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) or the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors — National Association (PHCC).

“We’re pleased to have an hvac program that combines the power of a large organization with the strength and entrepreneurial spirit of the area’s independent hvac contractors,” said Ed Mayberry, president and ceo of Pepco Energy Services. “This program values the contractors’ independence and represents a great opportunity for contractors to remain competitive and increase their bottom line by taking advantage of our sales and marketing efforts.”
