WASHINGTON, DC — “Lessons Learned in 2001” will be the focus for the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy’s (ACEEE’s) National Conference on Energy Efficiency and Reliability. At the conference, which will be held October 29-30 in Berkeley, CA, discussions will center around the challenges that have occurred throughout the year, including Cali-fornia’s blackouts, droughts in the Northwest, heat waves, price spikes, and tight supplies in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions.

For the event, the ACEEE will bring together the California Energy Commission, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, Pacific Gas & Electric, the U.S. Department of Energy, and many more program planners and implementers.

According to the council, the conference will present the efforts that have been implemented in 2001 to control energy challenges, and explore what can be done in 2002.
