Energy Services Company Wins Contract

The Counsel of Governments in Washington, D.C. has awarded a contract estimated to be worth over $1 billion over the life of the program to an energy services company (ESCO) whose bid included DeMarco Energy Systems’ (Austin, TX) Energy Miser heat pump as the first choice for heating and cooling system upgrades and retrofits. The Counsel of Governments includes municipalities and local governments surrounding Washington, DC.

AAON, Inc.

AAON, Inc. (Tulsa, OK) announced record sales and earnings for the first quarter. Sales increased 15% to $34.5 million from $30 million a year ago. Net income jumped 66.7% to $3 million or $0.49 per share from $1.8 million or $0.27 per share in 1999.

Imaging and Sensing Technology Corp.

Imaging and Sensing Technology Corp. (IST) (Horseheads, NY) announced that it has acquired AIM Safe-Air Products, Ltd. (Vancouver, BC, Canada). The AIM line of instruments will be jointly marketed with the environmental monitoring instruments already produced by IST.

Twin City Fan Companies, Ltd.

Twin City Fan Companies, Ltd. (Minneapolis, MN) has signed a manufacturing cooperation agreement with ZVVZ Co. (Milevsko, Czech Republic) to build certain products of Twin City Fan, enabling the U.S. firm to supply its equipment to European markets.

Steril-Aire, Inc.

Steril-Aire, Inc. (Cerritos, CA) has reached a licensee agreement with CNA Engineers PTE Ltd. (Singapore) and its newly formed subsidiary, GETC Asia PTE Ltd. (Singapore). GETC has been established specifically to manufacture and market Steril-Aire products throughout Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

GE MicroGen, Inc.

GE MicroGen, Inc. (Latham, NY) announced that it has signed Kubota Corp. of Japan as the latest international distributor for the company’s line of fuel cell systems.

TransPro, Inc.

TransPro, Inc. (New Haven, CT) announced the completion of its previously announced sale of its Crown specialty metal fabrication division to Leggett & Platt, Inc. in a $37.5 million transaction.

Lydall, Inc.

Lydall, Inc. (Manchester, CT) has announced financial results for the first quarter. Income from continuing operations was $6.7 million, or $0.43 per share diluted, compared with $4.2 million, or $0.27 per share diluted for the first quarter of 1999. Sales totaled $80.2 million compared with $82.9 million for the prior year.

Cerro Copper (St. Louis, MO) has selected Cedar City, UT as the site for its new flagship tube manufacturing facility. Groundbreaking for the facility will be later in May.
