YORK, PA — The York County Heritage Trust (YCHT) unveiled plans for the newest gallery space at YCHT’s Industrial Museum located here in York.

The C-Wing of the Motter Complex, a factory dating from the late 1890s, is receiving a complete restoration.

The theme for the exhibits in the wing will be the “Giants of York Industry.” Nearly one-third of the gallery will be used for an exhibition on refrigeration, with the centerpiece the giant A-frame ammonia compressor built by York International, circa 1902.

The display will portray the era of York’s industrial growth; the manufacturer’s significance in the global economy; the mechanical skills of York County craftsmen; and how technological changes impact everyday life.
