MILWAUKEE, WI — Through a system-wide performance contract with Johnson Controls, Inc., Bon Secours Health System will augment its healing environment with enhanced nonclinical improvements, including heating, cooling, lighting, and security systems at 24 hospitals in 14 communities in nine states.

Now underway is the program’s first phase, a $5.2 million facility upgrade at three Hampton Roads, VA, hospitals that includes energy-efficient equipment such as chillers and boilers. In addition, Johnson Controls has helped Bon Secours realize cost savings and improved regulations compliance with the development of a centralized medical waste processing center serving the three hospitals.

Edward Boyer, senior vice president of Bon Secours Corporate Services, said, “We are happy to be working with a partner who shares our long-range focus on the responsible stewardship of our financial and human resources.”
