Honeywell technology licensed by Chelsea

Honeywell, Minneapolis, MN, has retained the Chelsea Group to assist in finding a manufacturing licensee for a new, patented air quality sensor technology. The new technology monitors two indicators of changing comfort conditions: carbon dioxide and water vapor.

According to Tom Major, vice president of Honeywell Intellectual Properties, the company is interested in finding a licensee “who will produce sensors for Honeywell products and for the wider market.”

The target application for the palm-sized sensor is demand-controlled ventilation (DCV) using carbon dioxide levels, a surrogate for occupancy in a space, as a control algorithm to adjust ventilation. The sensor’s moisture measurement output would be used to control humidity.

For more information on this new sensor and to explore licensing arrangements, visit the Technology Brokerage link in Chelsea’s technology portal at the website listed above.
