Technical talks ranging from "Airflow Made Easy" to "Using the Psychrometric Chart" will be part of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES) Annual Conference, Oct. 3-7 at the Omni Hotel in Atlanta.

This is the second year in a row that Atlanta has hosted the annual conference. In part, this is due to the large number of HVACR-related manufacturers in the Atlanta area. Conference organizers said there were enough different tours of manufacturers to warrant two consecutive years in the same locale.

The tours traditionally come during the first few days of the conference after which activities switch primarily to the host hotel for a technology expo with booths from industry manufacturers and support service companies, an Ask The Experts panel, the society's annual business meeting, and the technical talks.

Topics in the talks are expected to include 13 SEER, airflow, certification and accreditation, case/merchandiser servicing, compressor starting problems, cooling idiosyncrasies, ductless technology, controls, optimizing system performance, psychometrics, and variable refrigerant flow.

Presenters are from such companies and organizations as Education and Consulting Inc., Cuyahoga Valley Career Center, Building Performance Institute, Hussmann, OEM Products Inc./Kickstart, Sporlan Valve Division of Parker Hannifin, Mitsubishi Electric HVAC Advanced Products Division, Field Controls, York International UPG (a Johnson Controls Co.), Testo, Grasslin, and the Heating, Airconditioning, and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI).

In addition, testing will be offered for certification as RSES Certificate Member, RSES Certificate Member Specialist, EPA Refrigerant Usage, Universal R-410A, and NATE.
