ST. LOUIS —  Unico Inc. has launched a major partnership with the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).  The partnership will focus on collaborating with remodeling contractors who face the challenges of adding central air in older homes, as well as options for home additions that would be impossible to design with conventional HVAC systems.

“The Unico System is an ideal solution for better comfort in older homes and we believe there is great potential for Unico-trained HVAC installers and remodelers to work together,” said Scott Intagliata, marketing director at Unico. “Our small-duct products are installed by contractors we consider to be the ‘best of the best’ in HVAC, and NARI represents the ‘best of the best’ in residential remodeling. So there’s a natural synergy between our organizations.”

With the partnership, Unico will provide in-person and online training and continuing education opportunities to NARI members on preserving a home’s architectural integrity when adding central air, including space-saving design options and options for weaving small-diameter ducting between wall joists and above ceilings. The company will supply information and research on topics like the energy efficiency of various types of heating and air conditioning systems, humidity control, and how to find qualified installers of small-duct heating and cooling systems.

“Partnering with quality manufacturers like Unico helps strengthen NARI’s mission in promoting best practices in residential remodeling services and products,” said Fred Ulreich, chief executive officer for NARI. “We are pleased to have Unico as a platinum sponsor and see our combined efforts as helping to raise the bar for both the HVAC and remodeling industries.”

NARI has 52 chapters, with 6,500 member-companies nationwide. The organization is dedicated to delivering “Remodeling Done Right,” which is NARI’s brand promise to member-companies, the remodeling industry, and consumers alike. NARI provides education, training, and eight certifications in addition to advocacy at the federal, state, and local level to represent member concerns. NARI offers a variety of programs that recognize excellence, within remodeling and within the remodeling community, including the Contractor of the Year (CotY) Award in 37 different categories. The Achievement Awards recognize outstanding achievements by an individual, company, or chapter that has worked to promote or enhance the professional remodeling industry. NARI represents high-quality remodeling professionals committed to integrity, high standards, professional education, ethics, and market recognition.

“We’re extremely pleased to partner with this respected organization,” Intagliata said. “Unico looks forward to working with NARI chapters and members across the nation in promoting professionalism in HVAC and remodeling.”
