LAS VEGAS — TCS Basys Controls held a Launch Party for its UbiquiSTAT thermostat Monday night during the AHR Expo. The company expected between 80 and 100 people during its event, held on the 25th floor suite of The Flamingo Hotel and Casino.

“It’s our first BACnet product that we’ve introduced,” said Brian Tarbert, vice president of business development, TCS Basys. “We took our time because we wanted to see what the market needed. What we felt it needed was something that was really developed to the true spirit of the open protocol of BACnet. A lot of other companies don’t open all their BACnet points; they don’t follow the true spirit of how that protocol was developed. Our thermostat can be used by anybody to do anything.”

The product has been in developing and testing for the past two years to ensure optimal performance, Tarbert noted.

The company decided the AHR Expo was the best place to hold a launch party for the product and thank its customers at the same time.

“We felt that it’s a more comfortable atmosphere here,” Tarbert said.  “We wanted to show our customers appreciation. A lot of our customers here tonight have been customers for years. We thought this was a great way to show our appreciation to them for being our customers for so many years and to launch this new product as well.”
