MEMPHIS, Tenn. — American Residential Services (ARS), a privately-held national provider of air conditioning, heating, and plumbing services, announced that it has acquired the assets of Weather Crafters, Chester, Virginia. Located in the Richmond area, it will be rebranded as ARS of Richmond.

Weather Crafters owner, Mark Bartlett, will continue to manage the Richmond-based HVAC business. “We are pleased to join the ARS team which shares our belief that exceptional customer service and industry-leading employment practices are vital for continued market leadership. Through this partnership we will take our services in the Richmond area to the next level,” said Bartlett.

Don Karnes, chief executive officer of ARS, added, “With this acquisition, ARS is increasing its strong presence in Virginia, which includes ARS/Rescue Rooter Manassas in Manassas, Virginia, McCarthy Services in Lorton, Virginia, and R.S.
