VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Smartcool Systems Inc. has announced the addition of a new distributor, EESI Global of Lexington, Kentucky, to its U.S. distribution network. EESI Global is an energy consultant and service company providing energy conservation technologies to businesses of all types and sizes.

EESI Global has begun to sell Smartcool’s ECO3 product in order to optimize the performance of the air conditioning, refrigeration, and heat pump systems of its commercial and industrial customers. The first projects were at two facilities owned by a large forestry company in the Appalachian region. Smartcool provided training and assistance in the installation of the ECO3 on the HVAC systems at these locations. EESI Global is expected to leverage the success of these initial installations at other facilities owned by the customer in the western United States later in 2016.

Greg Carr, director - solution development at EESI Global, said, “The Smartcool ECO3 is an excellent product that augments the value proposition being delivered by our suite of energy conservation technologies. We were impressed with the return on investment that we were able to offer to our initial customer even though they were paying a low industrial rate for their electricity.”

Chris Lefaivre, Smartcool’s executive vice president for North America, said, “We are thrilled to be working with a best of class partner like EESI Global and we are looking forward to continuing to collaborate to deliver benefits of our technology to their end use customers across the United States.”

Smartcool said its retrofit technologies reduce the energy consumption of compressors in air conditioning, refrigeration, and heat pump systems by 15 percent to 20 percent, giving customers a return on investment in as little as 12 months.
