STOW, Mass. — Nine New England-based contractors received 2015 COOL SMART Awards, presented at the Air Conditioning Association of New England’s (ACA/NE’s) annual golf tournament. The awards, sponsored by the Massachusetts/Rhode Island COOL SMART program, are given out during the sporting event held in Stow, Massachusetts. The winning contractors specialize in HVAC and were honored for the quality installation of energy saving equipment and overall program contributions. The golf tournament draws more than 100 participants throughout the region each year.

COOL SMART, now in its 11th year, is a high-efficiency heating and cooling rebate program for residential customers of National Grid, Eversource, Unitil, and the Cape Light Compact. These program administrators sponsor the awards and the tournament to recognize contractors in Massachusetts and Rhode Island for outstanding service and an ongoing commitment to energy efficiency. Launched in 2004, COOL SMART promotes the purchase and installation of Energy Star-qualified air conditioners, heat pumps, and water heaters. Awards are distributed annually to recognize outstanding contractors for leadership, quality work, and active program participation.

Award recipients from Massachusetts were A Plus HVAC Inc., Westfield; Central Cooling & Heating, Woburn; Heating & AC Services/ARS, West Bridgewater; Mucciarone Mechanical Services, Attleboro; Nashoba Air Inc., Littleton; Rodenheiser Plumbing and Heating, Holliston; and Robies Refrigeration Inc., Hyannis.

Rhode Island award winners were Carjon AC & Heating, Smithfield, and Lawrence Air Systems, Barrington.
