SEATTLE — Dexter + Chaney, providers of Spectrum® Construction Software, has announced that business partner and Spectrum reseller OnPoint Software Consulting Inc. has expanded its operations. Construction industry technology consultant Tom Cofer has joined OnPoint as a partner, and the company will add Louisiana and northern Texas to its sales and consulting portfolio for Dexter + Chaney. OnPoint has already been serving as a software consultant and reseller for Dexter + Chaney’s Spectrum product in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, as well as the surrounding metro areas of Kansas City and St. Louis.

Founded in 1989 by Mike Pieczynski, CPA, OnPoint Software Consulting provides software products and consulting services to the construction industry. Adding Cofer to the team, Pieczynski said, is a significant growth move — both for OnPoint and Dexter + Chaney.

“Tom built a very important and strong organization throughout the 1980s and has long been a critical player in the construction technology field,” Pieczynski said. “He was instrumental in helping construction companies make sure their missions were successful back when the market was moving to client-server technology and he has helped companies navigate through another significant technology shift today. It’s only natural we have Tom on board with us to help clients understand their technology options and ensure they fit their needs.”

Cofer founded Constructive Business Systems Inc. (CBSI) in 1984. Over the next 20-plus years, CBSI ultimately became one of the largest and most successful organizations in the nation providing construction technology and software solutions. Previous to founding CBSI, Cofer was employed in technology roles at leading general contractor, electrical contractor, and mechanical contractors in the Dallas metro area. As a partner with OnPoint, Cofer will be focused on all aspects of business development.

Dexter + Chaney President Norbert Orth said that OnPoint bringing Cofer on as a partner is an exciting prospect for future growth.

“OnPoint has already been a tremendous advocate for Dexter + Chaney in the Midwest and Southern U.S. markets, and Cofer’s reputation and experience will further our own message of building relationships with clients,” Orth said. “We’re thrilled to have Cofer, Pieczynski, and the entire OnPoint team on board with us.”
